Leslie Deere
Leslie Deere is a London-based artist, with a background in Performing Arts Dance and Training in Sonic Art. She is interested in the role of performance in creating an altered state of consciousness.
Her performance VR piece ‘Array Infinitive’ is a practice-based research project for her PhD, which investigates the ways in which art performance in VR affects and impacts an audience, and to what degree the audience is aware of the live setting whilst immersed in the virtual space. The project involves utilising hand gestures and bodily movements to generate ambient audio and vibrant VR particle trails, which are broadcast to audience VR headsets in real time.
Leslie has a permanently installed sculpture at the Forever Institute in Geneva and her work has been featured on BBC Radio 3, Radio 6, NTS and Radio Concertzender.
